Route-48 in cooperation with the Elbrus search and rescue detachment of the Russian Emergencies Ministry offers a unique tour allowing to immerse into a rescue work - fulfill your dream and discover your hidden talents!
At a highland training grounds in the Elbrus region you have an opportunity to experience search and rescue activities in the real highland setting. Training will take place at the height between 2000 and 5000 meter above sea level. Rocky grounds will allow to feel all the specific aspects of mountain activities - from rock climbing to rescue and medical evacuation of injured in the mountains.
The glaciers near the Pastukhov Cliff not only show you what a real glacier ice looks like, but also teach you about climbing harness, ice axe and self rescue.
During the tour you will learn how to save people in such a harsh setting and who mountain rescuers really are. Of course, without any risk to your health and safety.
Each of you will become a member of one of the best mountain rescue team in the country.

Terskol is the highest village in the Elbrus region. The lodge of the Elbrus highland search and rescue detachment of the Russian Emergencies Ministry (the best in the country) is located here.
To participate in the program the good general physical condition is required: regular physical activities, fitness, fit core muscles. Physical exercise restrictions, cold, sprains or fractures are the grounds to deny you participation in the program.
You will need sport base layer. Clothes and shoes matching the weather. The most part of the 2-day program will be held outdoors.
All the equipment needed for the program: trekking and ice grip shoes, training suit, helmet, glasses, gloves, harness.
During the whole duration of the program you will be accompanied by the professional rescuers of the search and rescue detachment of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. You will be fully equipped. As long as you stick to the safety rules and listen closely to the trainers’ directions, the risk of injuries will be minimal.
The participants are accommodated at the “Kupol” hotel in the Terskol village. The breakfast is included (no additional charges). In case the “Kupol” hotel is fully booked, the guest will be relocated to the hotel of the same class.
No, it’s strictly forbidden! This is an extreme weekend with a high level of activity, which requires a clear and sober mind. Moreover, training takes place at the heights between 2000 and 5000 meters above sea level, which absolutely unsuitable for alcohol consumption.
The recommended group size is 10 people.

Our program is held from May to October. That means, it is warm in the village, around +5°C (41°F) at the Gara-Bashi station and up to -10°C (14°F) at the Pastukhov Cliff.
